St. Luke's Camp is an early childhood experience (ages 3-7) designed to provide summer fun through appropriate social awareness and physical activities. Our goal is to help each camper develop a more positive self image and a genuine concern for the needs and feelings of others.
PROGRAM
Campers, staff and specialists work together to develop the skills we intend to provide for your child. Each camper will receive instruction in Red Cross Swimming, gymnastics, music, dance, arts and crafts and group games. The older children participate in karate lessons twice weekly. A musical presentation by the campers highlights the skills they have acquired in music and dance which parents are invited to attend. In addition, the staff provides special programs and events with different weekly themes.

St. Luke’s had another successful program in 2010. One hundred and fifty campers thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they participated in their daily routines and weekly activities
Once again, the program included formal swim lessons in the morning by two licensed WSI American Red Cross swim instructors and two additional lifeguards.
As in the past, gymnastic instructors physically challenged campers while rotating them through a sequence of equipment such as parallel bars, balance beam, and tumbling mats. Inflatables were popular among campers participating in Gymnastics. They included a running track and an inflatable obstacle coarse in the shape of a whale.
The Athletic director organized inventive water games to keep campers cool during the oppressive heat.
As in the past, Arts and Crafts utilized recyclable items donated by parents to create the most unbelievable projects. Milk cartons were turned into bird feeders. Paper towel rolls were made into totem poles.
Kempo Martial Arts provided us with instructors to teach Karate. The six and seven year old campers were given lessons twice a week.
Music and Dance instruction help prepare the campers for their performance entitled, “St. Luke’s Campers Are Really Sweet” Once again, the show opened with a power point presentation that included campers and staff engaged in daily activities. Campers performed sophisticated dance numbers while wearing outrageous costumes created by staff. Campers were taught to sing a variety of songs about candy and sweets. Parents purchased DVD’s of this presentation.
Our Staff were given the opportunity to display their talents during our own version of Beauty and the Beast. DVD’s of this show were made available to campers. Also, each camper went home with a special handcrafted souvenir.
In addition to our daily program, campers and staff were actively engaged in weekly activities which included:
-Crazy Hat Day -Super Hero Week -Spirit Week -Penny Carnival -Dance-off in Fellowship Hall
