Mission Statement:  We recognize that each child is an individual: that all children are creative and that all children need to succeed.  We stress the total development of each child: spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

St. Luke's Early Childhood Center (ECEC) is located adjacent to St. Lukes Church in Farmingdale.  The center has been in operation since 1987 and is licensed through New York State Office of Children and Family Services.  The Center has a staff of twenty eight full and part time teachers and assistant teachers.  Our teachers are New York State certified and our teachers and assistants are professionally trained to meet the requirements of New York State Office of Children and Family Services.  In keeping with these guidelines, the staff is trained in day care program development, nutrition and health needs of children, principles of childhoold development and safety and security procedures, first aid and cpr to name a few.

The center's 10,000 square feet boasts twelve classrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a full size gymnasium and two outdoor playgrounds complete with swings and several climbing structures.  Our center is a locked facility which parents are given a key to at the beginning of the school year.  Religious services are attended throughout the school year.  Our music program at the direction of Dr. Gene McCoy, teaches our children songs of the seasons, and the opportunity to play musical instruments.

St. Luke's operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 6:00pm.  For those children that attend full day classes, we provide a hot lunch prepared in the center's kitchen.  All children receive a snack in the morning and the afternoon.
